Bethany Beach Happenings – Garfield Parkway

Don’t miss all the festivities taking place in Bethany Beach for the Fire & Ice “Into the Wild” festival. See the ice sculptures, a live carving demonstration, and so much more – Bethany Beach will be a prime location for a whole host of fun festival activities throughout the entire weekend.

  • Friday, January 26th
    • Kids Inflatables (3 – 7 PM): Fun for children of all ages, bring the family to Bethany Beach to enjoy a fun afternoon on inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and bounce houses, sponsored by Bethany Beach Books and The Book Drop. The inflatables area will be located in the fenced area by the Christian Church Conference Center (15 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Bethany Beach). *Suggested donation for entry fee for event beneficiary. There will be something for all ages but certain age/height limits will apply to some of the activities.
    • Movie on the Bandstand (5 – 7  PM): Grab a pair of 3D glasses and enjoy the show! DeepSea 3D will be playing on the Bandstand. Sponsored by the Town of Bethany Beach, you’ll love this fun way to dive “Into the Deep” at the beach!
    • Canceled Due to Beach Conditions: Beach Bonfire & S’mores (6 – 8 PM): Head down to the beach to warm up by a beach bonfire, sponsored by the Town of Bethany Beach. *Beach/Weather contingent. What’s a bonfire without s’mores! Pick up a pre-packaged marshmallow, graham cracker and chocolate, sponsored by Su Casa that will be available for pick-up at the dune entryway.
  • Saturday, January 27th
    • Live Radio with Dan Gaffney (9 AM – 12 PM): Dan Gaffney from Delaware 105.9 will be broadcasting live near the flagpole in downtown Bethany Beach on Saturday morning.
    • Kids Inflatables (11 AM – 7 PM): Fun for children of all ages, bring the family to Bethany Beach to enjoy a fun afternoon on inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and bounce houses, sponsored by Bethany Beach Books and The Book Drop. Saturday inflatables will also include a mechanical shark! The inflatables area will be located in the fenced area by the Christian Church Conference Center (15 N Pennsylvania Ave, Bethany Beach). *Suggested donation for entry fee for event beneficiary.     • Cascading Carlos (1 – 4 PM): Cascading Carlos is a festival favorite. A talented professional juggler that brings a fun experience for all. Stand back and watch his incredible performance or give juggling a try and interact with his fun props!  Sponsored by Heather’s Home Works.
    • Mechanical Shark Inflatable (2 – 6 PM): Dive into the deep with your very own ride on an inflatable mechanical shark, sponsored by Bethany Beach Books and The Book Drop!  The inflatables area will be located in the fenced area by the Christian Church Conference Center (15 N Pennsylvania Ave., Bethany Beach)
    • Live Ice Carving Demonstrations: There will be two live ice carving demonstrations in Bethany Beach this year. Watch as legendary sculptor, Angelito, from The Ice God carves two gigantic walls of ice into intricate masterpieces! See below for times and locations of each demo!
      • 4 PM at Bethany Beach Ocean Suites: Sponsored by BBOS and Hotel Bethany Beach, watch from the boardwalk stage at Hollywood Street as the sculpture comes to life.
      • 6 PM on the Bethany Beach Bandstand: Sponsored by the Town of Bethany Beach, this finale sculpture will “wow” the crowd with an exciting finale to the “Into the Wild” theme for the festival weekend.
    • “Into the Wild” Ice Tour (5 – 9 PM): Starting at 5:00 PM on Saturday, check out all the sculptures in town by taking an adventure on the “Into the Wild” Ice Tour! Bethany Beach will feature an “Into the Deep” aspect of this year’s tour with sculptures highlighting water animals and deep sea creatures. Pick up a festival map at the information tent to make sure you see them all.

Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery Happenings – Frankford

Stop by Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery, located at 32512 Blackwater Rd. in Frankford, for live music, a live sculpture demo, and more. Kickoff Salted Vines’ jungle safari-themed weekend with the walking Ice Tour, featuring an ice drink luge to taste your favorite “jungle juice”.

  • Friday, January 26th
    • Ice Drink Luge  (12 – 9 PM): Come enjoy a drink poured from the 900-pound ice luge that will be revealed on Friday!
    • Food Trucks (2 – 8 PM): Enjoy some delicious food by Changing Mains and Fiona’s Food Truck as you sit by a fire, take a picture with the ice sculptures, and enjoy the ambiance at the vineyard.
    • Info Tent & Raffle (4 – 9 PM): Sponsored by Heather’s Home Works, stop by the info tent to pick up jungle-fun giveaways and enter to win a raffle.
    • Live Music  (4 – 9 PM): Kick off the Fire & Ice Festival weekend with some jungle jams at Salted Vines provided by DJ Scott Mayhugh sponsored by Tansey-Warner Realty.
    • “Into the Wild” Ice Tour (4 – 9 PM): Starting at 4:00 PM, check out the “Into the Wild” sculptures on the Ice Tour! Pick up a festival map at the information tent to make sure you see them all!
    • Live Ice Carving Demonstration (5:30 PM): There will be a Live Ice Demonstration at 6:30 PM at Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery sponsored by Taylor Bank. Watch as 1,800 pounds of ice are masterfully transformed into a detailed sculpture by the incredible artists from The Ice God.
  • Saturday, January 27th

  • Sunday, January 28th

Town of Ocean View Happenings – John West Park

The Town of Ocean View is hosting a number of fun Fire & Ice festival activities throughout the entire weekend. Take a trip to the beautiful John West Park in Ocean View for fun Oregon Trail- themed festivities, located at 32 West Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970, for even more sculptures, tasty food, and activities!

  • Friday, January 26th 
    • Food Trucks & Cookout (12 – 8 PM): Grab a delicious bite at John West Park on Friday and Saturday! Taco Reho will be on site from 12:00 – 8:00PM. Troop 281 will also be managing the Chuck Wagon – grilling up hotdogs, burgers, and baked for a good old fashioned cookout.
    • Kids Inflatable Winter Maze (12 – 8 PM): Sponsored by True North, children are invited to wind through a huge inflatable maze  in John West Park on Friday only during Fire & Ice Weekend! *Volunteers will be stationed at entrance of maze to provide safety guideline upon entry.
    • Beer Garden (12 – 8 PM): Beach Liquors will be sponsoring  the Trading Post- themed Beer Garden at John West Park. The Beer Garden will offer indoor/outdoor seating options! Take a load off and enjoy a drink in the 900 sq. foot inflatable pub or grab a seat outside by a relaxing fire pit.  Proceeds will benefit Beebe Healthcare’s South Coastal Emergency Department and Cancer Center through it’s partnership with the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce.
      • 2 – 5 PM: Stop by the Beer Garden between 2:00 – 5:00PM for three beer tastings from First State Brewery: Triangle Theory, Square Theory, and Circle Theory!
    • “Into the Wild” Ice Tour (3 – 9 PM): Check out all the sculptures in town by taking a “Into the Wild” Ice Tour! Pick up a festival map at the Information Tent to make sure you see them all! Watch as the ice sculptures created by The Ice God‘s talented artists are unveiled and illuminated with lights as the sun sets!
    • Live Radio with Dana McDonald (3 – 5 PM): Dana McDonald from 97.1 The Wave will be broadcasting live from the gazebo in John West Park.
    • Live Ice Carving Demonstration (3 – 4 PM): There will be a Live Ice Demonstration at 3:00 PM at the Gazebo sponsored by The Town of Ocean View. Watch as 1,800 pounds of ice are masterfully transformed into a detailed sculpture by the incredible artists from The Ice God.
  • Saturday, January 27th
    • Food Trucks & Cookout (11 AM – 4 PM): Grab a delicious bite to eat in John West Park and view the ice in the daylight! Vendors on site include Changing Mains and Taco Reho! Troop 281 will be managing the “Chuck Wagon,” grilling up hotdogs, burgers, and baked beans.
    • Pony Rides for Kids (11 AM – 2 PM): Take a ride on the Pony Express at John West Park’s Oregon Trail-themed Fire & Ice location. Sponsored by True North, children are invited to take a pony ride, provided by Saddle Up Stables. Signed waiver will be required onsite by guardian.
    • Ray’s Wraps & Sand Art Crafts (11AM – 2PM)
    • Beer Garden (11 AM – 4 PM): Beach Liquors will be sponsoring The Trading Postthemed beer garden at John West Park. Proceeds will benefit Beebe South Coastal Emergency Center and Cancer Center through their partnership with the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce.  Visit Beach Liquors to sign up for email updates and information on tastings!
      • 1-4 PM: Stop by the Beer Garden from 1:00 – 4:00 PM for special beer tastings from Dewey Beer Co.: El Trono, Swishy Pants, Sunset Eclipse, & Winter Seasonal Secret Machine.
    • Historic Village in Ocean View (12 – 3 PM): The Historic Village is adjacent to John West Park and includes the replica of Hall’s Store and Visitors Center. It was also Ocean’s View first Post Office, the nation’s first broiler chicken house, and the 1860’s Tunnel West House. All will be open for visitors to explore!
    • Live Music Performance (12 – 3PM): Sponsored by the Town of Ocean View, enjoy a live music performance by Homestead Bluegrass in the pavilion near the Beer Garden!

Millville Boardwalk Happenings – Millville

Come out to The Millville Boardwalk and be transported back in time to the Mesozoic era!  Life always finds a way and our grounds have been taken over by incredible dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes!  Venture through this Jurassic jungle featuring dino’s carved in ice, a dino-themed mini golf course, and some wild ice cream flavors.  This is the place to be for the kickoff to a full weekend of “DINO-mite” fun for the whole family. Proceeds will benefit the Millville Volunteer Fire Company.

  • Friday, January 26th
    •  Go Karts and Captain’s Quarters Arcade (10 AM – 10 PM): Enjoy all-day fun on Friday and Saturday by taking a few laps on the new Go Karts at Captain’s Quarters and warm up while you game out at the Captain’s Quarters Arcade!
    • “Into the Wild” Ice Tour  (4 – 9 PM): Pick up a festival map at the information tent to make sure you see them all the ice at each location! Starting at 4:00 PM, check out all the sculptures at Millville Boardwalk! This will be the spot you won’t want the kids to miss! Enjoy dinosaur sculptures, ice cream, Volcanic s’mores, a live carving demonstration, mini golf, arcade and more all in one spot!
    • Incredible Fire Exhibit by Artist Adam Foster (4 – 9 PM): Millville Boardwalk is the official “hot spot” of Fire & Ice weekend – you won’t want to miss the incredible 6 ft. tall propane-powered, volcano “Magma” and 16 ft. metal fire trumpets, sponsored Delaware State Toursim Office.  It’ll be a blast!
    • Ray’s Wraps & Sand Art Crafts (4 – 9 PM)
    • T Rex Lounge  (4 –  9 PM): Join in on the fun for a night of Family Karaoke in the T Rex lounge! Karaoke and photo opportunities will be from 4PM-9PM on Friday, January 26th.
    • Volcanic S’mores & Fire Pits: (4 – 8 PM): Stay warm by enjoying some extreme s’mores while viewing our Volcanic attraction.  Smore’s sales will benefit the Millville Volunteer Fire Company. There will also be a fire truck on site for all of the kids to explore!
    • Live Ice Carving Demonstration (4:30PM): Watch an epic ice carving demonstration of 6-blocks of ice on the stage by the arcade, sponsored by Millville Boardwalk.
    • Ice Cream Specials: The adventure continues with Jurassic twists to Agape Creamery’s ice cream flavors including special flavors specially made for Festival Weekend: details coming soon!

Skating Rink – Lord’s Landscaping, Millville

Friday through Saturday, January 26th – 27th

Stop by Lord’s Landscaping and grab a pair of skates for the 2024 Skating Rink, located at 35577 Atlantic Avenue in Millville. Sponsored by Lord’s Landscaping and SavvyDerm Skin Clinic, the 1,800 square foot synthetic ice rink will be fun for the whole family!

Chili Cookoff , Millville, DE

Venture out for the 2024 Fire & Ice weekend festival by taking advantage of a little friendly competition at the Chili Cookoff.  Proceeds will benefit the Millville Volunteer Fire Company. A limited number of tickets will be offered for two separate time slots to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the same experience of raffles, beverages, and some of the best chili in the area.
      • Ticket Includes: Chilis to taste, saltines, your choice of beverage (water, soda, tea), cash bar, ice sculpture, music, ice cream, and more! Tickets also serve as raffle tickets toward a great prize. All ticket sales will benefit Millville Volunteer Fire Company. Click Here For Tickets!!!

We are excited to announce a new Fire & Ice initiative that invites local individuals, families, and communities to team up to sponsor their own ice sculpture while supporting a good cause! Community Ice Sponsors will get to select their sculpture’s design and host location where the ice will be displayed. Up to 20% of proceeds from each block of ice sponsored will be donated to Believe in Tomorrow.

Drink Competition – Sunday, January 14th at Mango’s

This event is sold out!

Join the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce & local restaurants on Sunday, January 14th, from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Mango’s for the Fire & Ice “Into the Wild” Drink Competition. Local bartenders will compete in this circle of life matchup to have their drink crowned the 2024 Fire & Ice king of the comp!

All drinks will be created with bartender’s choice of tequila, vodka, or whiskey. New this year, each competing group will go head-to-head to win a Best of the Base Award! Best of the Base winners will be determined by an excellent panel of judges. Patrons will be able to vote for their favorite drink to determine the People’s Choice Award Winner! Tickets will be available until Wednesday, January 10th.

Looking for additional drink-tasting-fun?  Stop by Banks Wines & Spirits from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, January 26th, for an ice drink luge tasting with Bee Wild beer by Burnish Beer Co.!  Banks Wines & Spirits will also be hosting a drink tasting of Don Julio Reposado BWS Barrel Select through their ice drink luge on Saturday, January 27th, from 12:00 – 3:00 PM.  Beach Liquors will also be hosting Ballotin Spirits tastings in-store on Saturday, January 27th, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
